Why crates instead of boxes

Anyone who has moved more than twice has had the same three bad hours: the hunt for boxes, the taping, and the flattening. Cardboard is a consumable you buy, wrestle with once, and then have to get rid of. It is genuinely the worst part of a move that has nothing to do with moving.

Reusable crates fix all three at once. They show up assembled, they stack properly in a truck, and when you are unpacked they leave. That is the whole idea, and it is not complicated enough to need a mission statement.

How we run it

Our warehouse is at 149 Byers Creek Road in Mooresville, which puts us within an easy run of Charlotte, the Lake Norman towns, Concord, and down into York County. Every crate that comes back gets washed and wiped before it goes out again, and any crate that is cracked, stained or tired gets pulled rather than passed along.

We answer our own phone. If you call 704-702-6523 during the day, you get someone who can actually change your delivery window rather than a queue.

What we care about getting right

• Showing up when we said. A delivery window you cannot trust is worse than no delivery window.
• Clean equipment. You are putting your linens and your kids' toys in these.
• No surprises on the bill. You see the whole total before you pay a deposit, and the balance charge is the number you already agreed to.
• Not being precious about extensions. Unpacking takes longer than anyone plans. Call us and we will extend.

The environmental part, briefly

Every crate we own gets used hundreds of times instead of once. We are not going to pretend that renting crates is a climate policy, but it does mean a few hundred fewer boxes at the curb every month, and it is a genuinely better product besides. Both things can be true.
